Hello! I'm a graphic designer in the Pittsburgh area. I have 30+ years of experience in graphic design and marketing. I’ve spent most of my design career working as the Senior Marketing Artist at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette but I’ve also worked in both ad agency and design studio environments. In addition to my design experience, I worked as the Worship Director of Cornerstone Ministries, a large non-denominational church. The past few years, I’ve worked as a freelance designer doing design work for a variety of clients.
If you check out my portfolio, you’ll see my approach to design is clean and to-the-point with form always following function. I don’t believe in superfluous design for design’s sake; presenting a concise message or conveying a particular concept always takes priority in my designs. But clear communication can only happen once the viewer has been drawn in to engage with the message or be impacted by the concept. This is where I excel as a designer, I create designs with striking visual appeal that communicate and communicate well.
My design ability is accompanied by my seasoned management and leadership skills. Being in the business as long as I've been, I’ve acquired plenty of experience in project, team and resource management. At the Post-Gazette, I oversaw a team of artists, partnered with key people from other departments and worked with various outside vendors to take projects from conception to production with excellent results in an efficient manner while staying within budget.
I further honed my leadership skills during my years working at Cornerstone Ministries. There I led a team of more than 100 people made up of tech specialists, musicians and artists to produce weekly worship services and several larger annual events that maintained a consistent level of artistic and technical excellence and professionalism all while managing a $100,000 annual budget.
If you're interested in having me work on your next graphic design project, please fill out my contact form and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.
